Car loans for the less fortunate

Sometimes you need money to be able to make money. Getting to work without a car can be a big problem and in some cases it is just impossible. Asking for a ride to work is something that most people feel embarrassed about and you just can't expect colleagues or friends to help you out permanently. Public transport sometimes takes hours to get you to where you need to be. In a nutshell, you need a car. But with a low income on which you can barely pay all your bills getting a car is a problem. Getting a car loan is even a bigger problem.

There is a nonprofit program available for people who really need some financial help to be able to get a car. Being able to drive to work enables people to work longer to make more money to get by and saves money on things such as transport. Ways to Work gives out car grants for the less fortunate and can help to secure or provide a car loan.

The Ways to Work program started in Minnesota in 1984 and has provided loans to over 24,000 families since then. Fo cusing on providing chances and services to improve the economic self-sufficiency of families with a low income the program has issued at least $36 million in loans. Operating in 25 different states people with a low credit rate or with bad credit can apply not only for a car loan but the program also helps people to improve their credit scores.

This means that families living on a low income now finally have a chance to improve their credit ratings so that they can get on with their lives and build a new and financially secure existence. Often a car is the first step towards a better job and a financially safer future.
