Road Test

A road test is a term that is sometimes called a test drive. This is the drive you take with a car before you buy it. Most of the time you are checking to see that the car drives smoothly and handles easily. The dealer will usually accompany you for the road test.

When taking a car for a road test, do not play the radio. Listen carefully to the engine to make sure that it sounds quite and smooth. Take the car over a variety of road conditions. Try not to simply drive the car around the block. If possible, you want to take the car through the normal routine you will use it. If you normally travel on the freeway, take the car on the freeway. The more situations you can test the car under, the better feel you will get for the quality and soundness of the vehicle.
