What is Kelley blue book and its significance in auto industry

Kelley Blue Book Company is well -known for its services and they are the largest appraiser of automobiles. It started as Kelley Kar Company, Los Angels based car dealership in the year 1918. The dealership was introduced by Les Kelley, a businessman.

In the beginning for acquiring cars, Kelley prepared a list of cars that he wanted and the prices he would like to pay for them. He started circulating the list among the public. Consequently, this price list became very popular and trusted source among Los Angels banks and other car dealership stores.

His next move was introduction of a used car guide. He published a guide for used car values in 1926. After World War II, there was a sudden upsurge in the prices of the used cars with the increase in the demand for used cars. It was during this time, Kelley Blue Book Company made its guide as a nationwide automobile appraisal guide from regional level.
